Cromatik 5 is an Croatian-Slovenian avant-new jazz band playing their original compositions. Formed in 2010, they perform as a quartet, consisting of four regular and one local or international guest musician, only when desired to expand more of their original sound. Though they started with more-or-less straightforward saxophone-guitar-drums jazz setup after meeting each other while studying at the Jazz University in Austria, Grgur Savic on alto saxophone, Bojan Krhlanko on drums and Pavle Jovanovic on electric guitar expanded their sound with their new regular member, young double bassist Ivar Roban Krizic and Hrvoje Galler, electric pianist who joined the band for their first debut album recording.

The band draws on infuences from a wider musical spectrum such as grunge, punk, swing, jazz and rock music, and is known for an unconventional style, sometimes described as «avant-groove». Each of the Cromatik 5 member is involved in the large music community and has participated in numerous side project over the years.
